Volunteer Voices from Montreal’s Cultural Communities
RECAA has completed a project entitled In Their Own Words: Volunteer Voices from Montreal’s Cultural Communities. We interviewed elder volunteers from Montreal-based community organizations, including RECAA, to give them an opportunity to voice what they have learned from their longstanding commitment to their community organizations. These interviews were paired with photographs, and made into a short video. Participating organizations include the Council for Black Ageing, the South Asian Women’s Community Centre, COPSI (Centre d’orientation paralégale et social pour immigrants), the Immigrant Workers Centre, and the Centre d’action socio-communautaire de Montréal. In Their Own Words was supported by a grant from the New Horizons for Seniors Program and a partnership grant with ACT (Ageing, Communications, Technologies)-Concordia.
